Rainy season in Myanmar lasts for 5 to 6 months. Light and heavy rains make conditions even more difficult for the poor.
Located at Tachileik, the border area of the Thai and Myanmar, is a children’s home named Dove. It shelters a lot of children in poverty. As it is built beside the river bank, the children’s quarter is often bombarded by the flooding water during the April to September rainy months. DOVE home is about to collapse.
Because of this, Sowers Action is gathering devoted volunteers to build a Gabion Wall for DOVE in March before the onset of the rainy season when the water level is still low, and protect the children from the flooding hazard.
